Russell has played braggadocio characters for decades, none more full of themselves than a being prepared to make over the entire known galaxy in his image, all other creatures be damned.Charming at first, middle, and end, villainous all the way through, Ego is a terrific villain that doesn’t know he’s a villain. Look at that ’80s hair!I can’t think of a better actor and name for this character than Kurt Russell and Ego. Could have saved Ego an extra trip to fetch the offspring for the battery trials that they all failed. Ego as a she could have birthed children on Ego’s planet. And why do I keep calling him a man? It’s not the Kurt Russell casting (not only that), but the fact that Ego says, “Yes, Drax, I have a penis.”Seems like Ego chose the more difficult route.
Even Peter thinks Rocket has misplaced priorities in this moment. Rocket eagerly wants the boombox to work so they can fight to a soundtrack.
